The State Government is investing in efforts to ensure that locals are trained for future jobs, but there is also a need to retain skilled migrants in WA, as well as interstate and foreign workers with the skills required by WA businesses today.
The new Construction Visa Subsidy Programme (CVSP) is assisting Western Australian construction enterprises in meeting the need for skilled labour.
The programme will provide up to $10,000 in grant payments to promote skilled migration visa pathways for workers, as well as assistance with expenses such as migration agent fees, visa application fees, and relocation costs.
Occupations Needed:
Employers in Western Australia are looking for people with skills in electricians, architects, surveyors, bricklayers, engineers, and other fields. They prefer foreign staff who are trained in these sectors. The complete list of qualified occupations is available here.
Program Benefits:
Selected applicants will get grants of up to $10,000. This includes visa application fees, migration agency fees, and relocation expenses.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Employers in CVSP are willing to sponsor skilled worker visa applicants (482, 494, or 186).
- Employees that receive sponsorship must work on building projects and maintain an office in Western Australia.
- Visas must be issued under visa subclasses 190 or 491 by the Washington State Nominated Migration Programme (SNMP).

- Registering: To begin, fill out the WA registration form.
- Details Publication: Upon registration, all of your information will be posted on the Migrant Employer Register by the WA service provider.
- Matching Process: The WA service providers will give the company your contact information when they require a worker.
- Job Offer: Once you fulfil the employer’s prerequisites, you will receive a job offer.
